CME Information
Once you are licensed in a particular state, as a practitioner you will need to complete a certain amount of CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits per license cycle. Each state has a different length of cycle, number of credits needed, number of credits that must be DPM versus general medicine related, and live/in-person versus online. You should check your state board website for specific rules regarding this.
Every time you re-apply for a license renewal, you will be asked if you made the requirement for needed CME credits but may not need to submit proof (unless audited). I recommend keeping all certificates as well as an excel log of your CMEs completed so it is quickly accessible if ever needed.
Rules and regulations regarding CME accumulation can be found either here, or it is advised to check your local state organizations website.
Below are some links on where to get CMEs. Additionally, you can check out CME-List.com (Podiatry CME and Board Review - list of resources).
The website PodiatryMeetings.com was created "with a goal to provide podiatric meeting reviews, ratings, and testimonials in an effort to help all parties make stronger, informed decisions when choosing which podiatric meetings to attend in the future."
